Crit’air stickers for cars in Paris and Lyon

Since Monday 23 January, the metropolises of Paris, Lyon, and the city of Villeurbanne are subject to the rules of alternating and / or differentiated traffic, to meet the new peak of pollution that rages on these large cities.

Concretely, only vehicles with an even plate number can drive on even days, and only vehicles with an odd number plate can roll on odd days.

However, the Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region is starting today at the time of the capital by completing this system with differentiated traffic. The Crit'air thumbnail system classifies vehicles according to fuel type, Euro standard, and year of release. There are 5 distinct categories, and a vignette specific to so-called clean vehicles.

Thus, according to the threshold of pollution declared by the air quality monitoring bodies, part of the vignettes is prohibited from circulation within the City of Lyon and Villeurbanne.

Only derogation from this rule: car-sharing if you carry at least three people. You will be able to ride with a car whose plate or vignette are not allowed to do so.

Know that these measures will unfortunately dispense you from your daily traffic congestion ... Many motorists will be obliged to bypass the big cities, which implies a not inconsiderable overload of the urban peripheral boulevards.
